Ever since their first performance in 2004, Hunt Family Bluegrass has been entertaining fans with their smooth, polished style. Whether you are a long time Bluegrass fan or a newcomer to the genre you are sure to be pleased with an HFB performance. The band consists of one family which includes Terry and Leanne and sons Andrew and Jonathan.
Terry grew up in Harrison, Arkansas and began playing the banjo and taking an interest in Bluegrass at an early age. He currently adds his tasteful rhythm and lead guitar and vocals to the band. In addition to performing with HFB he is a member of the faculty in the aerospace department at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
Leanne was born on a farm in Garden City, Missouri where she grew up singing with her family. She sings and plays the acoustic bass with HFB and has a tone and timing that are hard to beat. She is also an accomplished pianist and flautist.
Andrew began playing the fiddle when he was 7 years old and started learning the mandolin soon after. He enjoys playing both instruments and singing lead and harmony with HFB. He is currently a Recording Industry major at Middle Tennessee State University and teaches fiddle, mandolin and guitar.
Jonathan does a fine job on banjo and vocals with HFB. In addition to being a great musician he is also an excellent studio engineer and banjo “mechanic”. His clear, smooth banjo style is an integral part of HFBs sound.
HFB’s recordings include 6 albums 5 of them on their own Rock Springs Records label. Currently available albums include Buffalo Nickel; a collection of classic and original instrumentals; Oklahoma Wind, an album that features 6 original songs; and Christmas With Hunt Family Bluegrass, a collection of classic Christmas music that is sure to bring back old memories and help create new ones.
HFB’s main goals are pleasing fans and making new friends. We would love to see you at an upcoming event in the near future.
